About Boothbay

Boothbay Fund Management, LLC is an institutional investment firm established by Ari Glass. We manage two global multi-strategy multi-manager platforms, and seek to generate repeatable absolute returns with low volatility and low correlation to traditional asset classes through all market conditions. We combine our team’s knowledge and expertise across strategies, regions, structures and markets with the goal of discovering investment ideas and delivering value to our clients.

Founder & Managing Member

BIO

Ari Glass is the Founding Partner and Managing Member of Boothbay. As Head of the Investment Committee, Mr. Glass oversees all investment decisions including strategy allocations and is responsible for risk management. As Managing Member, Mr. Glass also oversees all aspects of the overall business.

Previously, Mr. Glass served as President of Paine Heights Management LLC. At Paine Heights, Mr. Glass managed a special opportunity hedge fund that invested in the SPACs and advised on a Solar Energy transaction. From 2007 through 2009, Mr. Glass was the President of Platinum Management (NY) LLC.

From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Glass served as the Chief Operating Officer of “Tiger Cub” Intrepid Capital Management (“Intrepid”), a $2.5 billion hedge fund organization seeded by Soros Fund Management. At Intrepid, Mr. Glass oversaw all business-related activities. In 2004, Mr. Glass launched Intrepid Associates, an affiliated entity that added fund managers to Intrepid’s platform, including funds focused in the healthcare and utilities sectors. From April 1998 until August 2000, Mr. Glass worked as Chief Financial Officer at Vector Capital Management (“Vector”), a statistical arbitrage hedge fund in Norwalk, CT. From 1995-1998 Mr. Glass worked in Business Assurance at Coopers & Lybrand, LLP and was an associate at Prudential Securities from 1994-1995. Mr. Glass graduated in 1993 from Queens College, with honors, with a B.A. in Accounting and Information Systems.

Mike Weaver

Chief Operating Officer

Michael Weaver joined Boothbay as Chief Operating Officer in July 2023. Prior to joining Boothbay, he was the Director of Business Strategy for Voloridge Investment Management, where he had primary responsibility for overseeing the strategic growth and development of new business opportunities for the firm. Prior to that, he served as a consultant to ALK Capital Partners, advising on their acquisition of Burnley Football Club in the English Premier League. Prior to working with ALK, Mr. Weaver was the Chief Operating Officer of Surveyor Capital at Citadel where he had direct oversight of business strategy and business management. Prior to Surveyor, Mr. Weaver spent seven years at BlackRock as a Managing Director. Prior to Blackrock, Mr. Weaver was the CFO and a Founding Senior Partner for R3 Capital Partners, a global, multi-strategy credit investment firm. Prior experience includes seven years at Lehman Brothers, where he held roles in fixed income trading and proprietary trading. Mr. Weaver earned B.A.s in Economics and Political Science with High Honors from Kenyon College where he was graduated Magna cum Laude and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  Mr. Weaver also holds an M.B.A, with distinction, from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Daniel Bloom

Chief Financial Officer

Daniel Bloom is the Chief Financial Officer and has been with the firm since 2011. He manages all financial and operational-related activities of Boothbay. From 2007 to 2011, Mr. Bloom was with Deloitte and Touche LLP in their advisory practice, with a specific focus on the investment management industry. He advised companies with their strategies as they related to operations, technology, and compliance. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Bloom managed the operations at Altrinsic Global Advisors, an investment management firm with approximately $7 billion under management, that manages both long and long-short global equity portfolios. Previously, Mr. Bloom held various positions at Globeop, UBS and Alliance Bernstein. Daniel is a CPA in New York and graduated with honors from Yeshiva University.

Dov Lando

General Counsel

Mr. Lando joined Boothbay as General Counsel in 2021. Prior to joining Boothbay, from 2018 to 2021 Mr. Lando served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Crawford Lake Capital Management LLC, where he was a member of the senior executive team and responsible for all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, as well as information security/privacy, cyber security, business continuity planning, and IT infrastructure, with management responsibilities relating to HR, investor relations, and other operational functions. Prior to joining Crawford Lake, from 2012 to 2018, Mr. Lando served as General Counsel and head of the legal & compliance team at MKP Capital Management LLC, where he was responsible for all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters relating to MKP’s operations. From 2003 to 2012, Mr. Lando served in a similar capacity as General Counsel at Arden Asset Management LLC. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Lando worked as Assistant General Counsel at American International Group (AIG). From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Lando served as an Associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where he focused on hedge fund and investment management issues. Mr. Lando is a member of the bars of the states of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Lando received a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1995, and a B.A. in Economics from Yeshiva University in 1991.

Peter Richards

Director, Investments

Peter Richards joined Boothbay in May 2021 as a Director of Investments. In his role, he is involved in manager research, capital allocation, co-investments and risk management processes for the firm with a focus on cross asset arbitrage and relative value strategies. Prior to joining Boothbay, from 2015 to 2021, Mr. Richards served as an Associate Director in Portfolio Management at PAAMCO Prisma, where he focused on the sourcing, evaluating, monitoring and managing of cross asset relative value hedge fund investments, with an emphasis on emerging managers and customized separately managed accounts. Prior to joining PAAMCO, from 2010 to 2013, Mr. Richards worked at Raymond James Argentina as a sell-side Equity Research Analyst covering the Natural Resources industry for Latin America. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Richards worked at NFD Agro as a Private Equity Analyst focused on agribusiness investments in Latin America. Mr. Richards graduated from Universidad Catolica Argentina with a B.S. in Economics and received his M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Charles Garber

Treasurer & Director of Operations

Charlie is the Treasurer and Director of Operations at Boothbay Fund Management.  Previous to this he was at J.P.Morgan for 14 years where me most recently worked in Structured Lending Sales creating customized financing solutions for clients across a variety of assets.  Before that worked in managed JPMorgan’s Prime Brokerage Risk Team and was responsible for the extension of credit and margin requirements across the client base. Earlier in his career he was in Hedge Fund Credit providing analysis on clients to structure various facilities and trading arrangements.  He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2005 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Minor in Mathematics and General Honors Award.

Frederick Richardson

Head of Business Development

Frederick Richardson joined Boothbay in July 2013. He received his BSc in Biochemistry from The University of Leeds, England and an M.B.A from Columbia Business School. Mr. Richardson is responsible for managing Business Development, which includes manager and strategy sourcing, with a focus on building new and current relationships for the firm.

Justin Joo

Director, Investments

Justin Joo joined Boothbay in June 2019 as Vice President of Investments and is responsible for manager and strategy sourcing. Mr. Joo was previously at EnTrustPermal focused on Investment Research. Prior to that, he was at Morgan Stanley and Cambridge Associates. Mr. Joo graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Economics and Psychology. Mr. Joo is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.
